Dodger - In Us We Trust
Some bands take years to develop their sound. They experiment with different styles and subtleties of their genre. They work with producers who shape them and mold them into versions of themselves. Sometimes, the band’s sound was there all along, right in front of them. This is the case with Southern ON reggae rockers ‘dodger’ and their new full length release, ‘In Us We Trust’.
For dodger’s ‘In Us We Trust’, the title is fitting. The band took all profits made from their previous 2 EPs and invested them in their own studio. dodger’s Matt Drake was at the helm and recorded, produced, and mixed the album at the band’s ‘The Abbey’ studios. Free from outside influence and pressure, the band was able to experiment and push the boundaries of their rock reggae punk style to the limits. The result? ‘In Us We Trust’, blistering rock affected with the ska reggae influence that the world has come to expect from dodger. Poppy enough to be accessible but rocking enough to be legit, groovy enough for the heads yet skanking enough for the skank pit, this record has something for everyone. The best part is; this may just be the beginning.
